Trezor hardware wallets store your private keys offline and require physical confirmation to sign transactions. Buy only from authorized retailers or the official Trezor shop. Inspect packaging for tamper evidence and ensure the device arrives sealed. If any tamper signs exist, contact vendor support rather than using the device.

When sending, prepare the transaction in the app then confirm the exact destination address and amount on your Trezor device — physical confirmation is the key anti-phishing control.
Advanced & optional protections
- Use a passphrase (hidden 25th word) to create an additional layer of protection — but understand that losing a passphrase means losing access to those accounts.
- Consider metal backup tools for seed durability against fire/water.
- Split funds across multiple wallets for risk management.
Lost device or recovery process
If your Trezor is lost or destroyed, get a new compatible device and choose the recover wallet option during initialization. Carefully enter the words from your written recovery seed in the correct order. Do not enter your seed into any website, only into a trusted Trezor device during recovery.
